Urban Arts Space (UAS) is a student-run art gallery at The Ohio State University, located in downtown Columbus, Ohio. As part of its mission to engage the community, UAS hosts Artist Commune, a monthly programming event that collaborates with students, staff, and artists to explore themes relevant to current exhibitions.

In June of  2024, I took on the task of planning, marketing, and hosting our August Artist Commune workshop titled "Totes on Town." This interactive gathering welcomed guests into the gallery to screen print and personalize tote bags with the artists behind the Women’s Work exhibition, which was on display from August 20 to September 21, 2024. Women's Work highlighted the multimedia work of Alex McClay and Stephanie Berrie and utilized traditional methods of craft as a means of feminist expression.  Within this role I developed promotional materials, in collaboration with Bre Eicholt, and executed  social media outreach to over 5,000 followers across various social media platforms. Additionally, I communicated with senior gallery staff and the artists of Women's Work to establish a series of engaging activities for visitors and led a group of 10 volunteers in the set up and execution of the event.

"Totes on Town" achieved record attendance for an Artist Commune workshop, fostering community engagement and interaction with the Women's Work exhibition and the mission of Urban Arts Space. Below, you can explore a selection of images showcasing the marketing resources, event activities, and social media posts that capture the essence of the event.
